weird that your message only appear as of now (it say you posted it on April 2018), may be a bug with the Flarum message board, seem your message was hidden 
Anyway to answer your question, the code should be saved per session in real-time as you type, it is saved on the server if you are connected to it (are all top left plug icons green ?)
